Mauka is Hawaiian for “towards the mountain”. This soap is rich in oils found in the Hawaiian forest. The forests of Hawai'i  are a sacred area full of food, herbs, ritual, dwelling, and natural resources. Certain trees such as the Kukui Nut and Noni are cherished and used for multiple healing and practical purposes. 

Noni is a native tree that is used daily in Polynesia. Every part of the tree is important. The smell of the fermented fruit is a familiar memory in most children who grow up in Hawai'i. It is used for everything from insect bites, to acne, to healing wounds, and digestive health. In this soap we use homegrown Noni leaf. Used topically the Noni leaf tightens the skin and aids in muscular healing.
